After spotting conceptual multidisciplinary artist Arlene Rush online I hot-footed it to her show at SpringBreak Art Fair. When I visited her Chelsea studio it was filled with a wide array of work and these photos are just a few of what was in the studio that day. Since her sense of scale is based on the human body there is an immediate and visceral connection to the work. Her personal is universal approach to a subject is underscored by her choice and play with materials. It is a carefully considered dance between strength and weakness, dark and light and a stand for choosing the moral path.
